Filipino Olympic champion Carlos Yulo failed to defend his men’s vault title at the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, finishing seventh in the final on October 25.
Yulo recorded an average score of 13.883 points across his two vaults. His opening attempt earned 13.333 after an unstable landing resulted in a 0.300-point penalty. He improved significantly on his second vault, scoring 14.433, but the recovery was not enough to put him in medal contention.
Armenia’s Artur Davtyan won gold with 14.850 points, securing his second world championship vault title after his 2022 triumph. Great Britain’s Jake Jarman took silver with 14.650, while Norway’s Sebastian Sponevik claimed bronze with 14.366.
The result followed another difficult outing for Yulo, who finished eighth in the men’s floor exercise final on October 24 with 13.233 points. The Filipino gymnast, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, ended the world championships without a medal after previously winning the vault title in 2021 and 2025.
