NLEX moved closer to a semifinal berth in the PBA Governors’ Cup after defeating Phoenix, 124-117, in their quarterfinal series at the Ynares Center in Antipolo, according to an October 30 report.
Robert Bolick and Schonny Winston scored 31 points each, while Deonte Burton added 24. Their combined 86 points provided the main offensive contribution for the Road Warriors under coach Jimmy Alapag.
Bolick also collected six rebounds, four assists and three steals during 40 minutes on court. The scoring contributions helped NLEX withstand Phoenix’s challenge in another high-scoring meeting between the teams.
The result keeps NLEX’s bid for a place in the last four on track after its earlier victory in the series. Phoenix faces the task of responding to the Road Warriors’ scoring threats as the quarterfinal contest continues.
