Motorists using the CAVITEX R1 Expressway Extension between Zapote, Las Piñas and Kawit, Cavite began paying higher toll rates on October 28 following approval by the Toll Regulatory Board.

The revised charges are ₱103 for Class 1 vehicles, ₱207 for Class 2 vehicles and ₱310 for Class 3 vehicles. These represent increases of ₱15, ₱31 and ₱46, respectively, from the previous rates.

The adjustment is the second and final tranche of increases linked to toll petitions submitted in 2020 and 2023 by CAVITEX Infrastructure Corporation and the Philippine Reclamation Authority. The first tranche was implemented in October 2025.

To ease the impact, accredited public utility vehicles are eligible for a 60-day toll rebate programme. Department of Agriculture-accredited trucks transporting agricultural products may also receive rebates through November 30. The increases apply only to the specified R1 Extension segment, with other operational sections retaining their existing rates. The change raises travel costs for affected motorists and commercial operators.
