The Philippine Embassy in Madrid said it had assisted a family of Filipino tourists involved in the deadly train collision in Toledo, Spain, on October 28.
In a statement reported on October 29, the embassy said it was coordinating with Spanish authorities and that no other Filipino nationals had requested its assistance as of that update. An earlier embassy statement had reported a Filipino national with minor injuries.
The collision involved a high-speed train and a stationary train. GMA News reported at least 68 deaths, citing information available at the time. Casualty figures and the status of those affected may change as authorities complete identification and investigation work.
The embassy said its coordination with Spanish authorities was continuing. Filipino travellers and relatives seeking information can follow official embassy communications for further assistance updates as the response to the collision develops.
